Once she entered the publishing arena, Warren saw an opportunity to add suspense and epic adventure to the romantic stories she wanted to tell. This behavior doesn’t surprise anyone that knows the author.Įven as a child, she loved adventure. She is also more than happy to experiment with the exciting activities that her characters enjoy, ranging from sailing and hiking to diving and climbing. She won’t hesitate to consult experts in fields around which her stories revolve, including firefighters and soldiers.

She injects a lot of time and effort into her research, which includes reading books and watching documentaries. On the other hand, the men are formidable creatures with a gentle side. The author’s heroines are strong women that are not afraid to give their men the opportunity to be heroes. Her protagonists are wounded individuals who must come to terms with their demons before they heal. Warren writes award-winning stories filled with unforgettable characters. ‘Measure of a Man’ was the first story she published. Later on, the missionary went to Russia, using the experiences she encountered to write articles and devotionals that appeared in magazines. Her work on a bi-monthly newsletter called The Warren Report played a crucial role in her life because it gave the author concrete writing experience. The dedicated Christian attended the University of MN, graduating with a degree in Mass Communication. In the years that followed, writing and storytelling became ministry tools that the author used to praise God. She showed an affinity for storytelling at a young age, going so far as to win a writing contest in the first grade. Warren cannot remember a time when she did not write. The pair returned to the same place for their honeymoon.

In fact, she met her husband at her favorite fir-lined spot.
